      Synopsis: Assessing Site Quality and Tree Growth

      This module introduces participants to practical approaches for assessing forest site productivity and tree growth. Participants will explore how tree height and age relate to Site Index (SI), including how reference age is used to compare the productivity of different forest sites.

      The module also examines when Site Index is appropriate and when other indicators, such as Site Form and diameter growth, may provide useful information, particularly in complex forest conditions. Through practical activities, participants will learn to interpret growth information and select appropriate indicators for assessing site productivity. By the end of the module, participants will be able to explain key site productivity indicators and apply appropriate approaches to assess forest site quality and tree growth.
