This course is an opener to the principles and applications of Islamic Finance and suitable for a beginner and training course materials. It covers the various aspects of Islamic finance principles in the public welfare and profit making transactions.This course highlights the importance of Islamic finance principles in relation to Maqasid Shariah and ethics. The integration of Islamic finance with Halal industry is also discussed.This course also emphasizes the importance of waqf and zakat in poverty alleviation and economic development followed by the applications of Islamic Finance contract in the individuals and the institutional needs in investing and financing. Finallly, the role of Islamic capital market and its products in financing and investing activities is emphasized. Prospects and challlenges are also discussed. At the end of each topic, participants are required to answer questions related to each topic's material together with activities.
