CSS5205 Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT)

This course provides a comprehensive foundation in Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT) by integrating both theoretical concepts and practical system-level understanding of intelligent connected environments. Unlike many existing courses that focus solely on IoT infrastructure or standalone AI techniques, this course emphasises the convergence of AI and IoT, including architectures, communication protocols, embedded intelligence, and real-time data analytics. It also introduces emerging technologies such as edge and fog computing, 5G and 6G communication, federated learning, and intelligent resource optimisation, which are increasingly relevant in modern smart systems. Additionally, the course highlights security, privacy, and ethical considerations in AIoT deployments, ensuring a holistic understanding of real-world challenges.
